We are trying to savor every last minute of summer – and what better way to cool off than with a water balloon fight?! You can pick up a few bags at the dollar store, and I was amazed at how long they kept our girls entertained! I’m talking over two hours of trying to fill them up, tie them, and do all sorts of experiments.
Here’s the first one that didn’t go as planned! Just had to roll with it…literally.
I honestly didn’t plan on teaching at all during our Sunday Fun Day, but we ended playing and experimenting quite a bit. Some of the concepts we talked about were:
- Less and more
- Sink or float
- Comparing volume with varying size balloons
- Which is heavier, the one filled with water or air?
- And for the little one size terms like: small, medium, larger, big, little, full etc.

Love it!! Your girls are so cute! My friend told me yesterday that she saw this contraption that fills AND TIES 20 water balloons at a time! Since I did all the prep work for our fight the other day, I can say that I would have loved to have had that. I spent forever filling and tying and they were still gone in less than five minutes. Next time I’ll have to do what you did and make it more into a teaching time 🙂

We love water balloons! This summer we had 2 really EPIC water balloon fights. We probably should have tried a few experiments while we were at it 🙂

Pinned! I’ve been looking for some fun stuff to do outdoors with the little one – she’s 2 and LOVES water. We’ve still got some time before it cools down around here so I’m pumped and ready to get this project started!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
